Recent World Medicine Trip to Gaza
A reflection on my recent humanitarian trip providing acupuncture care in Gaza.
World Medicine is a registered charity providing complementary and alternative medicine to people around the world suffering the effects of trauma, disaster, and poverty.
In January 2009, five therapists traveled to Palestine to participate in a project set up in partnership with MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) and Mothers School in the West Bank. Since then, this initiative has expanded, including follow-up trips to the West Bank and a significant visit to Gaza in 2010.
These trips aim to bring relief to communities facing immense challenges, offering acupuncture and other therapies to alleviate the effects of trauma and stress.
